The Indian women’s cricket team will begin its Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 campaign tonight, August 30, taking on Thailand at the Dubai International Stadium.
The Group A encounter is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM IST, with Harmanpreet Kaur leading India as the team looks to make a strong start to its continental campaign.

Thailand, meanwhile, enter Sunday’s encounter with confidence after beginning their Asia Cup campaign with a six-run victory over Hong Kong.
Thailand scored 120 for nine in that match before restricting Hong Kong to 114 for seven, giving them early momentum ahead of their clash against India.
Despite India entering as strong favourites, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will be wary of taking Thailand lightly. Thailand have shown steady improvement in women’s cricket and will look to produce a major upset against one of Asia’s strongest teams.
India have won nine of their 16 T20 internationals in 2026, but their recent performances have been inconsistent, making the Asia Cup an important opportunity to regain momentum ahead of upcoming international assignments.
The tournament will also provide India with valuable preparation ahead of the Asian Games in Japan next month.
