New Delhi, October 13, 2026: A 29-year-old driver identified as Daljeet allegedly died after being assaulted by nightclub bouncers and other staff in Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla area following a dispute over beer spilled on a woman. Delhi Police have arrested several people in connection with the case, seized the club’s CCTV recording equipment and are searching for other suspects.
Dispute Began After Beer Was Spilled
According to police sources, Daljeet had visited the nightclub with his friends when one of them accidentally spilled beer on a woman. The incident reportedly triggered an argument, after which bouncers allegedly intervened and assaulted Daljeet and his companions.
Apology Failed to End the Confrontation
Police sources said Daljeet and his friends apologised following the incident, but the confrontation allegedly continued. The accused are alleged to have attacked members of the group with sticks and glass bottles despite the apology.
Daljeet Allegedly Dragged Back Inside
Investigators are examining accounts that Daljeet and his friends attempted to leave the premises but were allegedly pulled back inside and assaulted again. Daljeet reportedly sustained the most serious injuries during the incident.
Victim Collapsed Near His Residence
After leaving the nightclub, Daljeet’s friends took him to his residence in Raghuvir Nagar. He reportedly collapsed near the entrance to his home and was subsequently taken to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Several Accused Arrested
Delhi Police have arrested multiple people in connection with the alleged assault. Investigators are working to identify and apprehend other suspects and are examining the possible involvement of bouncers, waiters and additional staff members.
The investigation is expected to establish the individual roles of those allegedly involved in the confrontation.
CCTV Recorder Seized
Police have seized the nightclub’s digital video recorder containing CCTV footage. Investigators are reviewing the recordings to reconstruct the sequence of events, identify those involved and corroborate witness accounts.
The footage is expected to form part of the evidence being examined as the investigation progresses.
Family Demands Justice
Daljeet, a resident of Raghuvir Nagar, is survived by his wife, eight-year-old son and father. His family has demanded strict action against everyone found responsible for his death.
The loss has left the family seeking accountability as police continue their investigation.
