India and Indonesia Begin Implementing Key Agreements on Defence, Maritime Security and Digital Cooperation

Jakarta/New Delhi, July 9: India and Indonesia have begun implementing a series of strategic agreements signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent official visit to Indonesia, signalling a new phase in the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The agreements cover defence cooperation, maritime security, digital public infrastructure, critical minerals, space technology, and economic collaboration, reflecting the growing importance of bilateral ties in the Indo-Pacific region.

Officials from both governments have initiated follow-up consultations to translate the signed agreements into concrete projects and institutional cooperation.

Defence Partnership Set to Expand

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the decision to deepen defence cooperation between the two countries.

The agreements include collaboration in:
