Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has started the MH CET 5-Year LLB CAP Counselling 2026 Round 2 choice-filling process today, August 23, 2026, for candidates seeking admission to five-year integrated law programmes across Maharashtra.
Registered candidates can now log in to the official CAP counselling portal and submit their preferred law colleges in order of priority. The Round 2 option-form window will remain open until August 26, 2026.
Round 2 Choice Filling Open Until August 26
Candidates participating in the Centralised Admission Process can select and arrange their preferred colleges during the four-day choice-filling window from August 23 to August 26.
The order in which colleges are entered is important because the Round 2 seat allotment will be processed on the basis of candidates’ merit, eligibility, category, seat availability and submitted preferences.
Candidates are therefore advised to review their choices carefully before finally locking the option form.
Who Can Participate in Round 2?
Candidates who are eligible for the current counselling round and have completed the required registration process can participate in Round 2.
Students who received a seat in the first round but selected the Betterment option are also eligible to submit preferences for Round 2 in an attempt to secure a more preferred college.
Candidates should check their individual counselling status in the official portal before submitting the option form.

Candidates Should Prioritise Colleges Carefully
The option form is one of the most important stages of CAP counselling because the order of preferences can directly affect the college allotted to a candidate.
Applicants should research colleges before locking their choices and consider factors such as location, course structure, fees, facilities and previous admission trends.
Candidates should avoid selecting colleges randomly or placing a less-preferred college above an institution they genuinely want to join.
Once the final option form is submitted and locked, candidates should retain a copy or screenshot of their submitted preferences for future reference.
What Happens After Round 2?
After the Round 2 allotment result is released on August 28, successful candidates will need to complete the required admission formalities within the prescribed reporting period.
Candidates who remain eligible for subsequent rounds will be able to participate according to the CAP rules and schedule.
Round 3 option filling is scheduled to begin on September 3, while the entire admission process is expected to conclude by the final cut-off date of October 5, 2026.
Students are advised to regularly check the official Maharashtra State CET Cell and five-year LLB CAP portals for notices, revised schedules and admission instructions.
