Admit Card Release Was Delayed
NBEMS had originally scheduled the NEET PG admit card for release on August 24.
However, the board issued a notice revising the date to August 25, 2026, citing unavoidable circumstances and requests received concerning candidates from Assam and Meghalaya.
The examination itself was not postponed and continues to be scheduled for August 30.
Reports on Wednesday confirmed that the hall-ticket download facility was active, allowing registered candidates to access their individual admit cards.

NEET PG Exam on August 30
NEET PG 2026 will be held on August 30, 2026, in a single computer-based examination shift.
The scheduled examination timing is:
Exam begins: 9:00 AM
Exam ends: 12:30 PM
NBEMS has advised candidates to follow the reporting time mentioned on their individual admit cards and reach the examination centre sufficiently early.
The official examination schedule had already identified August 30 as the date for conducting NEET PG 2026.
NEET PG 2026 Paper Pattern Changed
One of the significant changes this year is a revised examination format.
NEET PG 2026 will contain 180 questions to be completed in 210 minutes, compared with the previous format of 200 questions.
The government said the rationalised pattern is intended to provide candidates with more time per question while retaining the overall examination duration.
The examination continues to be conducted as a computer-based multiple-choice test.
Stronger Aadhaar-Based Verification Introduced
NBEMS has also strengthened candidate authentication for the 2026 examination.
According to the government, Aadhaar-based authentication has been incorporated during both the application process and on examination day.
The measure forms part of a broader set of reforms intended to strengthen examination integrity and prevent impersonation or other unfair practices.
Candidates Warned Against Fake Postponement Claims
Ahead of the examination, NBEMS has also warned candidates against circulating or relying on misleading information about a possible postponement of NEET PG 2026.
On August 25, the board responded to social-media posts suggesting that the examination could be postponed and reiterated that the test remained scheduled for August 30.
NBEMS cautioned that knowingly circulating false or misleading information regarding the examination could attract action under applicable laws.
Candidates have therefore been advised to rely only on official NBEMS communications.
NEET PG Is Key Entrance Exam for Postgraduate Medical Seats
NEET PG serves as the national eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admission to a range of postgraduate medical programmes.
It is used for admission to courses including MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes, along with several postgraduate seats under institutions and programmes covered by the national examination system.
NBEMS states that state governments, private medical colleges and universities cannot conduct separate entrance examinations for MD, MS and PG Diploma courses covered through NEET-PG.
That makes the examination one of the most important competitive tests for MBBS graduates seeking postgraduate medical training in India.
What Candidates Should Do Now
With only a few days remaining before the August 30 examination, candidates should download their hall tickets immediately and verify their allotted centre.
They should also review the instructions printed on the admit card, arrange travel in advance and avoid relying on unofficial claims circulating on social media.
The most important confirmed information remains that the NEET PG 2026 admit card is now available, and the examination remains scheduled for August 30 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM in a single shift.
