Noida, October 12, 2026: Indian IT services major HCLTech has announced a Global Premier Partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to accelerate the adoption of enterprise Agentic AI. Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and Center of Excellence (CoE) to develop and deploy AI solutions powered by Anthropic’s Claude models for businesses worldwide.
Dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and Centre of Excellence
The new business unit will focus on Anthropic’s technologies and help enterprises transition from AI experimentation to large-scale implementation.
HCLTech also plans to establish secure sandbox environments where businesses can test and evaluate Agentic AI systems before introducing them into sensitive enterprise workflows.
Claude and Claude Code to Drive Enterprise Solutions
HCLTech’s services teams will develop industry-specific solutions using Claude, Claude Code and Cowork.
The partnership aims to help businesses automate complex, multi-step tasks while maintaining security controls, governance frameworks and human oversight.
HCLSoftware to Embed Claude Into Enterprise Products
HCLSoftware will become an Anthropic independent software vendor (ISV) partner, enabling the integration of Claude’s capabilities into selected enterprise software products.
The planned integrations will cover areas such as cybersecurity, automation, application development and business-process software.
HCL BigFix and AppScan Among Products Targeted for Integration
HCLTech plans to incorporate Anthropic technology into products including HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, while also supporting capabilities across Actian’s AI offerings.
The integrations are intended to make AI capabilities more accessible within existing enterprise software environments, helping organisations improve workflows and operational efficiency.
AI Force Platform to Integrate Claude Capabilities
HCLTech will also integrate Claude and Claude Code into its AI Force agentic software-engineering platform.
Potential applications include IT support, code remediation and digital employee services. The company plans to retain policy guardrails and human intervention for high-impact actions, reflecting the importance of oversight when deploying AI-driven systems.
Safety, Security and Governance Remain Central
Safety, cybersecurity and governance are key priorities under the partnership as businesses explore the use of increasingly autonomous AI systems.
These safeguards are particularly relevant in sensitive sectors such as banking, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing, where AI-driven decisions and automated processes can affect critical operations.
Workforce Training and AI Skills Development
The agreement also includes support for employee training and the development of internal capabilities required to operate Agentic AI systems at scale.
HCLTech aims to help clients adopt AI-native engineering practices and prepare their workforces to move beyond pilot projects towards broader enterprise deployment.
HCLTech Expands Its AI Partnership Strategy
The Anthropic agreement adds to HCLTech’s expanding AI strategy, which includes dedicated business units, technology partnerships and industry-specific AI solutions.
The company has also been expanding its AI Force platform and launched a Gemini Enterprise Business Unit earlier in 2026, as it continues to develop its presence in enterprise AI services.
Enterprise Agentic AI Gains Momentum
Agentic AI refers to AI systems capable of planning, reasoning and executing multi-step tasks with varying levels of human intervention.
Technology companies are increasingly investing in these systems for applications such as software development, IT operations, customer service, cybersecurity and workflow automation. Their adoption, however, depends on organisations’ ability to balance productivity gains with reliability, security and appropriate human supervision.
AI Revenue Highlights Growing Business Importance
HCLTech reported AI-related revenue of $219 million in the September quarter, compared with $171 million in the previous quarter, highlighting the growing contribution of AI to its business.
The partnership with Anthropic represents another step in HCLTech’s efforts to expand its enterprise AI offerings as demand grows for solutions that can be integrated into existing business operations.
