New Delhi, July 1: Did You Know? Every year on July 1, India celebrates Chartered Accountants Day to commemorate the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 1949. The day honours the contribution of Chartered Accountants (CAs) to the country’s economic growth, financial transparency, taxation, auditing, and corporate governance.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was created under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, making it one of the oldest and most respected professional accounting bodies in the world.

Why Is Chartered Accountants Day Celebrated?

Chartered Accountants Day marks the anniversary of the formation of ICAI, which was established by an Act of Parliament on July 1, 1949 to regulate the accounting profession in India.
