Saarbrücken, November 1, 2026: Indian badminton stars Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu will both compete for titles at the Hylo Open Super 500, giving India a chance to complete a memorable double in Saarbrücken. Sen will face Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the men’s singles final, while Sindhu takes on Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt in the women’s singles title clash.
Lakshya Sen Reaches Final in Straight Games
Sen booked his place in the final with a convincing 21-17, 21-13 victory over France’s Toma Junior Popov in the semifinal.
The result marked Sen’s second final of the season after his runner-up finish at the All England Open earlier this year.
Jonatan Christie Awaits in Title Clash
Sen will face Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the final.
Christie leads their career head-to-head record 4-3, giving the Indian an opportunity to draw level while also chasing his first title of the season.
Sen Says He Is Ready for the Fight
Ahead of the final, Sen said he was prepared for another demanding contest after a tournament in which he has already been tested in several matches.
A victory would provide a major boost after a season in which the 25-year-old has struggled at times to reproduce his best form consistently.
PV Sindhu Also Reaches Final
Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu reached the women’s singles final after defeating fellow Indian Anmol Kharb 21-13, 21-16.
Sindhu has reached her second consecutive BWF World Tour final after finishing runner-up at the French Open the previous week.
Sindhu Faces Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt
Sindhu will meet Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt in the final.
The Indian holds a strong 6-1 head-to-head advantage over the Dane, although Kjærsfeldt’s only win came at last year’s Sudirman Cup.
India Eyes Double Hylo Open Triumph
The simultaneous final appearances of Sindhu and Sen give India a rare opportunity to win both singles titles at the same BWF World Tour event.
The last time both players reached the finals of the same tournament was at the Syed Modi India International in 2024.
The Hylo Open finals are scheduled for later on November 1, with Indian fans hoping for a double title celebration in Germany.
