New Delhi, July 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a one-day visit to Rajasthan and Gujarat today, where he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹1.06 lakh crore. The projects span urban infrastructure, railways, roads, renewable energy, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductor infrastructure, reinforcing the government’s focus on accelerating economic growth and employment generation.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the visit includes major public events in Jaipur and Sanand, where the Prime Minister will address public gatherings after launching the projects.
Major Infrastructure Push in Rajasthan
During his visit to Jaipur, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving urban mobility and connectivity across Rajasthan.
Among the flagship projects is the Jaipur Metro Phase-2, which is expected to significantly expand the city’s metro network, reduce traffic congestion, and provide faster, more sustainable public transportation for residents.
The Prime Minister will also launch projects related to highways, railway infrastructure, water supply, and urban development designed to strengthen the state’s economic and civic infrastructure.
Semiconductor Manufacturing Gets a Boost
In Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi will visit Sanand, where he will dedicate new semiconductor and electronics manufacturing infrastructure to the nation.
The visit marks another milestone in India’s Semicon India Programme, which aims to establish the country as a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing, chip packaging, and electronics production.
Officials said the new facilities are expected to attract investments, strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, reduce dependence on imports, and generate thousands of skilled employment opportunities.
Focus on Industrial Growth
Apart from semiconductor infrastructure, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects related to industrial development, logistics, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
These initiatives are intended to improve ease of doing business, enhance supply-chain resilience, and support the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by promoting indigenous manufacturing and technological innovation.
Strengthening Infrastructure and Employment
Government officials stated that the combined investment of over ₹1.06 lakh crore will contribute significantly to regional development, improve connectivity, and create direct and indirect employment opportunities across multiple sectors.
The projects are also expected to boost investment, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and improve the quality of public services in both Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Advancing the Vision of Viksit Bharat
Addressing public gatherings during the visit, Prime Minister Modi is expected to reiterate the government’s commitment to building modern infrastructure, expanding manufacturing capacity, and transforming India into a developed nation under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The large-scale development package highlights the Centre’s continued emphasis on infrastructure-led economic growth and long-term national development.
