KYIV/MOSCOW, September 11: Fresh cross-border drone and air strikes intensified the Russia-Ukraine war on Friday, killing two people in Russia’s Tula region and injuring eight people in Kyiv, according to regional and Ukrainian officials.
Ukrainian Drones Hit Russia
Authorities in Russia’s Tula region said Ukrainian drone attacks killed two people and injured three others.
Additional strikes were reported in Saratov and Volgograd, where industrial and residential sites sustained damage. Two people were also reported injured in Volgograd.
Russian Strikes Hit Kyiv
Russian aerial attacks struck Kyiv, injuring eight people and triggering a fire in a nine-storey apartment building.
The renewed bombardment follows a brief lull during recent diplomatic efforts involving US officials.
Long-Range Attacks Intensify
Both Russia and Ukraine have increasingly relied on long-range drones to target infrastructure and strategic sites far from the front lines.
The latest attacks underline the continued escalation despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to find a path toward ending the war.
