NEW DELHI, September 20: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to release the NEET PG 2026 answer key and candidates’ response sheets soon, but the examination authority has not yet announced an official release date or time. The NEET PG 2026 result is scheduled to be declared by September 30.
Answer Key Release Date Not Confirmed Yet
As of September 20, NBEMS has not issued a separate notice confirming exactly when the NEET PG 2026 answer key and response sheets will become available.
Candidates have therefore been advised to monitor the official NBEMS website and NEET PG examination portal rather than rely on dates circulating on social media or unofficial websites.
The NBEMS NEET PG page currently provides access to the 2026 information bulletin, applicant login, notices and examination-related updates.
Answer Key and Response Sheet to Be Released Together
According to the NEET PG 2026 information bulletin, NBEMS will provide the official answer key along with candidates’ individual response sheets.
Once released, candidates will be able to view:
- Question ID numbers
- Correct answers
- Responses recorded during the examination
- Marks awarded for individual questions
Candidates will need their login credentials to access their individual response information.
NEET PG Answer Key Being Released for First Time
The 2026 examination marks an important change in NEET PG transparency.
NBEMS is set to publish the answer key and candidate response sheets following directions aimed at increasing transparency in the examination process. Previously, NEET PG candidates did not routinely receive a publicly accessible question-wise answer key in the same manner.
The documents will allow candidates to independently compare their recorded responses with the answers accepted by NBEMS.
How Candidates Can Estimate Their Score
Once the answer key is released, candidates can calculate an approximate score using the NEET PG marking scheme.
The examination awards:
- +4 marks for every correct answer
- -1 mark for every incorrect answer
- 0 marks for an unanswered question
However, any score calculated using the provisional answer key should be treated only as an estimate. The final score will be determined by NBEMS when the official result is declared.
More Than 2.65 Lakh Candidates Appeared
NEET PG 2026 was conducted on August 30 in computer-based mode.
A total of 2,73,096 candidates registered, while 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination.
NBEMS also conducted a re-examination on September 5 for candidates affected by technical problems at two examination centres in Jaipur.
NEET PG Result Due by September 30
According to the examination schedule, the NEET PG 2026 result is expected to be declared by September 30.
The answer key and response sheets are expected to be made available before the final results, allowing candidates to review their performance in advance.
After the results are announced, qualified candidates will move to the counselling process for admission to MD, MS and postgraduate diploma programmes across participating medical institutions.

Once NBEMS releases the documents, candidates should visit the official NEET PG portal and access the applicant login.
They will need to:
