New Delhi, July 1: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is celebrating Chartered Accountants Day today as it marks its 77th Foundation Day with a series of events, seminars, and professional programmes across the country. The occasion commemorates the establishment of the ICAI on July 1, 1949, under an Act of Parliament, and recognises the vital contribution of Chartered Accountants to India’s economic development and financial governance.
Celebrations are being organised at ICAI headquarters in New Delhi as well as regional councils and branches nationwide, bringing together chartered accountants, students, industry leaders, policymakers, and academicians.
Celebrating 77 Years of Professional Excellence
The Foundation Day marks more than seven decades of the institute’s role in promoting high standards of accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate governance, and financial reporting.
Senior ICAI officials highlighted the profession’s contribution to strengthening India’s financial ecosystem and supporting businesses, government institutions, and investors through ethical and transparent practices.
