Milky Mist Shares Surge After Strong 18% IPO Debut, Hit ₹181.50

NEW DELHI / MUMBAI, INDIA | August 18, 2026

Milky Mist Makes Strong Stock Market Debut

Milky Mist Dairy Food made a strong debut on the Indian stock exchanges on Tuesday, with its shares listing at ₹165 apiece on both the NSE and BSE, representing a 17.86% premium over the IPO issue price of ₹140.

The listing marked a positive start for the dairy products company after its ₹1,553-crore initial public offering attracted substantial investor interest.

Stock Gains Nearly 30% From IPO Price

The stock’s momentum strengthened after listing. Reuters reported that Milky Mist shares reached ₹181.50, taking the stock’s gain to around 29.6% from the ₹140 issue price and valuing the company at approximately $1.46 billion.

Other market reports also said the shares subsequently hit the 10% upper circuit following the initial listing gain.

The sharp movement reflects strong demand from investors on the company’s first day of trading.

₹1,553 Crore IPO Attracted Heavy Demand

Milky Mist raised ₹1,553 crore through its IPO, which was subscribed 56.12 times, highlighting the strong demand for the issue.

The IPO consisted of a fresh issue and an offer-for-sale component. The company plans to use the proceeds primarily to strengthen its balance sheet and support expansion of its manufacturing capacity.

Value-Added Dairy Products Drive Growth Story

Milky Mist operates in the value-added dairy products segment, offering products including paneer, cheese, yogurt, butter, ice cream and other dairy products.

The company has built a strong presence in southern India and is seeking to expand its reach beyond its traditional market. Reuters reported that the company expects roughly 30% annual revenue growth and plans to use IPO proceeds for debt repayment and expansion of its main manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

Strong Investor Interest Before Listing

Investor enthusiasm was visible even before the listing. The IPO received strong subscription demand across investor categories, while market expectations had already pointed towards a premium debut.

The actual listing at ₹165 was above the grey-market indication reported before the debut, providing IPO allottees with an immediate listing gain of ₹25 per share.

Analysts Remain Focused on Long-Term Performance

While the initial market response has been strong, analysts have urged investors to evaluate the company’s fundamentals and valuation rather than relying solely on the first-day rally.

Moneycontrol reported that brokerage DAM Capital initiated coverage with a Buy rating, citing Milky Mist’s position in value-added dairy products, distribution network and growth prospects.

The company’s ability to sustain growth, manage costs and expand its manufacturing capacity will remain important factors for its long-term performance.

Milky Mist Becomes a Major IPO Market Debut

Milky Mist’s debut adds another notable listing to India’s active primary market.

The company’s strong opening and subsequent rise demonstrate the appetite investors continue to show for businesses with established brands and growth opportunities. However, the sharp post-listing movement also means investors will be watching closely to see whether the company can sustain its market valuation beyond the initial excitement.

For now, Milky Mist has delivered a significantly positive first day on Dalal Street, with its shares moving from a ₹165 listing price to ₹181.50 and marking a strong entry into India’s public markets.
