Mumbai, July 8: Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled Maersk’s first India-manufactured shipping container, marking a significant milestone for the country’s logistics and maritime manufacturing sector. The launch is expected to strengthen India’s container manufacturing ecosystem while supporting the Government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
The event represents an important step towards reducing India’s dependence on imported shipping containers and enhancing the country’s role in the global maritime supply chain.

The newly manufactured container has been produced in India under international quality standards, reflecting the growing capabilities of the country’s manufacturing sector.
