PM Modi Pays Tribute to Swami Vivekananda on His Nirvana Day, Highlights His Enduring Legacy

New Delhi, July 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tributes to Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his Nirvana Day, remembering the revered spiritual leader as one of India’s greatest thinkers and visionaries. In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said that Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, ideals, and vision continue to inspire millions of young Indians and guide the nation on its path of progress.

Prime Minister Modi described Swami Vivekananda as a symbol of confidence, patriotism, spirituality, and service to humanity, noting that his thoughts remain highly relevant in contemporary India.

Tribute to a Great Spiritual Leader

Paying homage to Swami Vivekananda, the Prime Minister said that his life was dedicated to awakening India’s spiritual strength and inspiring people to serve society with dedication and compassion.

He emphasised that Vivekananda’s message of self-belief, discipline, and nation-building continues to motivate generations of youth to contribute positively to the country’s development.

Prime Minister Modi stated that Swami Vivekananda’s emphasis on education, character-building, and empowerment of young people remains a guiding force for India’s future.

He noted that the monk’s famous call to “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached” continues to inspire young Indians to pursue excellence, innovation, and service to the nation.

Global Messenger of Indian Philosophy

Swami Vivekananda is widely remembered for introducing India’s spiritual and philosophical traditions to the world through his historic address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893.

His speeches on universal brotherhood, harmony among religions, and human values earned worldwide recognition and established him as one of India’s most influential spiritual ambassadors.

The Prime Minister said that Vivekananda’s ideals of unity, social harmony, and national pride continue to strengthen India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
