NEW DELHI, September 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in New Delhi at 7 PM today, coinciding with India’s Teachers’ Day celebrations.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address the gathering during the centenary programme, according to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
SRCC Marks 100 Years
Shri Ram College of Commerce, affiliated with the University of Delhi, was established in 1926 by industrialist and philanthropist Sir Shri Ram.
Over the past century, the institution has emerged as one of India’s prominent centres of higher education, particularly in the fields of Commerce, Economics and Management.
Centenary Celebration Coincides With Teachers’ Day
The centenary event carries additional significance as it is being held on September 5, Teachers’ Day, when India honours the contribution of educators and teachers to society.
The occasion also marks the birth anniversary of former President and renowned educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
