‘Thirukkural’ Chosen as Central Theme

This year’s edition will focus on the Thirukkural, the classical Tamil text attributed to poet-philosopher Thiruvalluvar.

The work is widely regarded as one of the most important texts in Tamil literature and deals with themes such as ethics, governance, social conduct, love and human values.

Programme to Highlight Tamil-Kashi Cultural Links

Kashi Tamil Sangamam was launched to highlight long-standing links between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi.

The programme seeks to showcase shared traditions in literature, spirituality, philosophy, education, music, arts and pilgrimage.

Students and Scholars Expected to Participate

A significant focus of the event will be on younger participants and academics.

Students and scholars are expected to take part in discussions, cultural programmes, study visits and interactions designed to improve understanding of India’s civilisational diversity.

Thirukkural to Feature in Discussions and Events

With Thirukkural as the main theme, several sessions are expected to explore its philosophical and ethical relevance.

Discussions may focus on how the text addresses leadership, social harmony, morality, public life and individual responsibility.

Varanasi Remains Main Centre of Event

Varanasi, or Kashi, will remain the central destination for the programme.

Participants are expected to visit important educational, cultural, religious and historical sites in and around the city as part of the exchange.

Initiative Part of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’
