India Rejects OIC’s Kashmir Resolution, Accuses Pakistan of Misusing Bloc

New Delhi, October 20, 2026: India has strongly rejected references to Jammu and Kashmir in resolutions adopted by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), accusing Pakistan of using the grouping to advance what New Delhi described as a politically motivated and “bigoted agenda.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) termed the references to India “malicious, biased and false” and alleged that Pakistan had orchestrated them. The resolutions were adopted during the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting held in Baghdad on October 17 and 18.

India Categorically Rejects OIC References

The MEA said India categorically rejected the anti-India references contained in the resolutions adopted at the OIC meeting.

New Delhi expressed disappointment that the organisation had once again allowed itself to be used by Pakistan to raise issues concerning India’s internal affairs.

J&K and Ladakh Integral Parts of India, MEA Says

India reiterated that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of the country.

The government maintained that politically motivated statements or resolutions adopted by external organisations cannot alter India’s position on the territories.

OIC Has ‘No Locus Standi’, India Says

The MEA stated that the OIC has “no locus standi whatsoever” to comment on matters that India considers strictly internal.

New Delhi has consistently maintained this position in response to statements and resolutions issued by the organisation concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

India Accuses Pakistan of Driving Resolution

India alleged that Pakistan was behind the references to Jammu and Kashmir and had used the OIC platform to promote its political narrative.

The MEA also accused Islamabad of attempting to divert international attention from its own record on minority rights and sectarian violence.

India Raises Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Issue

In its response, India said that issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir that remain to be addressed include Pakistan vacating areas that New Delhi describes as being under its illegal and forcible occupation.

India also called on Pakistan to end its support for cross-border terrorism.

MEA Rejects Islamophobia References

The MEA rejected references concerning alleged Islamophobia in India contained in the OIC resolutions.

New Delhi described these claims as part of what it alleged was Pakistan’s effort to divert attention from issues within its own borders.

OIC Meeting Held in Baghdad

The resolutions were adopted during the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Baghdad.

Representatives of member countries gathered to discuss regional conflicts, political developments and issues concerning Muslim communities worldwide.

India Questions OIC’s Credibility

The MEA said the OIC’s repeated endorsement of narratives promoted by Pakistan raised questions about the grouping’s credibility and integrity.

India called on OIC member countries to reconsider the organisation’s approach to issues concerning New Delhi.

Kashmir Remains a Diplomatic Flashpoint

The latest exchange underscores continuing diplomatic differences between India and Pakistan over Jammu and Kashmir.

India maintains that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the country and that external organisations have no role in commenting on their constitutional status. Pakistan and the OIC have expressed differing positions on the Kashmir issue.
