Ahmedabad, October 15, 2026: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has opened admissions for the second batch of its two-year Blended MBA Programme in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (BPGP: BA & AI). Designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs, the programme combines management education with analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence to prepare participants for leadership roles in data-driven businesses.
Programme Runs for Two Years
The degree programme is structured across six terms and combines live online classes with on-campus learning modules at IIM Ahmedabad.
The blended format allows working professionals to continue their careers while pursuing an MBA focused on business analytics and AI.
Developed Under Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI
The programme is offered under IIMA’s Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI.
The school aims to integrate advanced AI capabilities with management practices, organisational decision-making and the responsible use of technology.
Curriculum Combines Management and AI
The curriculum covers subjects including mathematical modelling, programming, machine learning, finance and strategy.
Participants will also engage in case studies, simulations and applied projects designed to connect technical knowledge with practical business decisions.
AI Ethics and Predictive Analytics Among Electives
Students can choose specialised electives in areas such as AI ethics, predictive analytics and supply chain digitisation.
The programme aims to equip managers to assess not only the capabilities of AI but also how and when the technology should be applied responsibly.
Who Is Eligible?
Applicants must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree, CA, CS, ICWA, CMA or an equivalent qualification, with at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA.
Work Experience Is Mandatory
Candidates with a three-year undergraduate degree must have at least three years of full-time work experience, while those with a four-year undergraduate degree need at least two years of full-time experience.
The experience requirement is calculated as of March 31, 2027.
CAT, GMAT, GRE or IIMA Admission Test Accepted
Applicants can seek admission through a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score, or by taking IIMA’s own admission test.
The first application round for the 2027–29 batch is scheduled to close on November 2, 2026, according to the reported admissions information.
One-Year Exit Option Available
The programme offers an exit option after completion of the first year.
Eligible participants who leave at that stage can receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics and AI, while those who complete the full two-year programme earn the MBA degree.
Students Get Access to IIMA Resources
Participants will receive remote access to IIMA’s academic resources, including the Vikram Sarabhai Library, computing facilities and research databases.
Graduates completing the MBA will also join IIM Ahmedabad’s global alumni network.
First Batch Included 71 Professionals
IIMA welcomed the programme’s first batch in April 2026, with 71 participants.
The cohort included professionals from sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), information technology, consulting, retail, e-commerce, education, biotechnology and healthcare. Participants had an average of more than seven years of work experience.
Programme Targets AI-Era Business Leaders
IIMA Director Professor Bharat Bhasker said the programme is designed to combine technical competence with independent thinking and managerial responsibility.
The institute aims to prepare leaders who can understand advanced AI systems while making informed commercial, organisational and ethical decisions.
