New Delhi, November 2, 2026: BITS Pilani will offer 100% tuition fee scholarships to students who rank among the top 1,000 in BITSAT from the 2027 admission cycle, significantly expanding its financial-aid programme for high-performing students from middle-income families.
Scholarship Covers Full Tuition for Four Years
Eligible students will receive a complete tuition fee waiver for all four years of their undergraduate programme.
The benefit will apply to students whose annual family income does not exceed ₹20 lakh.
Minimum 7.5 CGPA Required
Students will need to maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 at their respective campuses to continue receiving the scholarship.
If the academic requirement is not met, the continuation of the tuition waiver may be affected under the scheme’s conditions.
No Separate Scholarship Application Needed
BITS Pilani Group Vice-Chancellor V Ramgopal Rao said the scholarship will be built directly into the admission offer.
This means eligible students will not need to submit a separate scholarship application after joining the institute.
Scheme Expanded From Top 500 to Top 1,000
BITS Pilani had introduced the initiative for the top 500 BITSAT rankers in 2026.
From 2027, the institute will double the coverage to the top 1,000 rankers, provided they also satisfy the income and academic-performance requirements.
Top-Ranker Admissions Rose 50%
The institute said the number of eligible students from the top 500 BITSAT rankers who joined BITS Pilani increased by 50% in 2026.
The BITSAT score needed to enter this group also increased from 314 to 324, indicating stronger interest among high-ranking candidates.
₹190 Crore Given in Financial Assistance
BITS Pilani said it distributed around ₹190 crore through scholarships, fee waivers and fellowships during the 2025-26 academic year.
Of this, about ₹101 crore was provided to undergraduate students through merit-based, merit-cum-need and international student scholarship programmes.
One in Four Undergraduate Students Gets Support
The institute said around one in every four undergraduate students across its campuses received some form of financial assistance.
The expanded BITSAT scholarship is intended to make the institute more accessible to academically strong students who may otherwise hesitate because of tuition costs.
BITS Pilani Also Updates Curriculum for AI Era
Alongside the scholarship expansion, BITS Pilani has also redesigned its undergraduate curriculum with greater emphasis on AI-era skills, interdisciplinary learning, research exposure and industry engagement.
The institute said the aim is to combine academic flexibility with stronger preparation for changing workplace demands.
