Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices across Delhi-NCR have increased by ₹3.89 per kilogram, with the revised rates coming into effect from 6 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Following the latest revision by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), CNG in Delhi now costs ₹86.98 per kg. Consumers in Noida and Ghaziabad will pay ₹95.59 per kg, while the revised price in Gurugram stands at ₹92.01 per kg. CNG in Meerut is priced at ₹95.47 per kg.
IGL attributed the increase primarily to the sharp rise in the cost of imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which accounts for a significant portion of the gas currently being used to meet CNG demand.
According to the company, international LNG prices have remained elevated amid the continuing West Asia conflict, significantly increasing input costs for city gas distributors.
IGL said the ₹3.89-per-kg revision was necessary to partially offset the rise in gas procurement costs while continuing efforts to protect consumers from the full impact of expensive imported LNG.
The latest increase is the fifth CNG price hike this year and the first since May, when prices were raised by a combined ₹6 per kg in four stages.
The higher fuel cost is expected to particularly affect auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, commercial vehicles and other CNG-dependent transport services across Delhi-NCR.
Following Saturday’s increase, Delhi-based autorickshaw associations also demanded a revision in fares, arguing that repeated increases in CNG prices have significantly raised their operating costs.
The associations have warned of further action if their demands are not addressed, adding another potential concern for daily commuters in the national capital.
CNG prices vary across different NCR cities because of differences in state taxes and other local charges.
Consumers will now closely watch international LNG prices and any further announcements by IGL, particularly as volatility in global energy markets continues to influence domestic fuel costs.
