Jammu-Kashmir assembly elections have been announced. We will hold voting here on 18 September, 28 September, and 1 October. The state’s administrative level underwent a major reshuffle before the announcement of the election dates. Just a few hours before the code of conduct came into force, the state transferred about 200 civil and police officers to Jammu-Kashmir.

The police department has also reshuffled 33 police officers’ postings, including those of IG and SSP rank officers. This list also includes the Range DIG and IG CID positions. This reshuffle has created a stir at the administrative level in Jammu-Kashmir.

The report announces Samba Deputy Commissioner IAS Abhishek Sharma’s appointment as Rajouri Deputy Commissioner. Similarly, Vikas Kundal, the Managing Director of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, is now the Managing Director of Jammu-Kashmir Power Corporation Limited. Dates for the assembly elections today
Let us tell you that the Election Commission has announced elections in Jammu-Kashmir. This large-scale reshuffle demonstrates the security arrangements of the commission prior to the elections. External terrorists have been consistently carrying out attacks here for the past few days. By implementing this modification, the Election Commission has attempted to enhance security measures.
The first assembly elections will take place after the 370 seats are removed
For the first time since the removal of Section 370, we will hold assembly elections here. Earlier, the number of seats in the Jammu-Kashmir Assembly was 987. In Jammu, there were 37 seats, and in Kashmir, there were 46. Following the Election Commission’s delimitation in May 2022, the number of assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir has now reached 90. This entails holding elections for 43 assembly seats in Jammu and 47 assembly seats in Kashmir.
