Etah, Uttar Pradesh, July 3: Rescue teams and local authorities continued emergency operations on Thursday following a tragic road accident in Etah district, Uttar Pradesh, where a speeding canter truck collided head-on with a Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus, leaving four people dead and several others injured.
Police, fire service personnel, and medical teams rushed to the accident site soon after receiving information about the collision. The injured passengers were rescued from the damaged vehicles and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while officials continued clearing the accident site and investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
High-Speed Collision
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when the canter, allegedly travelling at high speed, lost control and rammed into the oncoming state transport bus. The impact severely damaged the front portions of both vehicles, trapping several passengers inside.
Rescue personnel used specialised equipment to extricate those trapped before transporting the injured to medical facilities.
Casualties and Medical Assistance
Authorities confirmed that four people lost their lives in the collision, while multiple passengers sustained injuries of varying severity. Medical teams provided immediate first aid at the scene before shifting the injured to district hospitals for further treatment.
