New Delhi, June 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, bringing together Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and senior policymakers to discuss strategies for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The meeting, held in New Delhi, focused on inclusive human development, employment generation, healthcare, education reforms and skill development. Leaders from various states shared recommendations aimed at accelerating economic growth while ensuring social inclusion.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of cooperative federalism and the role of states in shaping India’s long-term development agenda. Discussions were centered on improving human capital, promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing public service delivery.

According to officials, the council reviewed proposals related to education, healthcare, infrastructure and workforce development. Recommendations from the recent Chief Secretaries’ Conference were also discussed as part of efforts to strengthen governance and policy implementation.

The Governing Council of NITI Aayog serves as a platform for collaboration between the Centre and states on key developmental priorities. The meeting is expected to influence future policy decisions aimed at transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary year of Independence in 2047.

Experts believe that coordinated action between the Union government and states will be critical in achieving the objectives outlined under the Viksit Bharat vision.
