Delhi Elections 2025: Voting will be held at 13799 booths in Delhi tomorrow, fate of 699 candidates will be decided

On February 5, votes will be cast for 70 seats of Delhi Assembly (Delhi Elections 2025). According to the figures of the Election Commission, there are a total of 1.56 crore voters in Delhi. In which male voters – 83,76173 and female voters are 72,36,560, while there are other 1,267 voters. In the voting to be held on February 5, the fate of 699 candidates will be captured in EVM. It is worth noting that votes will be cast at 13,799 polling booths at a total of 2969 places in Delhi. The Election Commission has completed preparations for elections on all these seats. Not only this, the Election Commission has also requested people to come out in large numbers and vote. Meanwhile, 30 parties including Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have participated in the election fray in Delhi. For about a month, there was a fierce election campaign in Delhi. All the parties not only made tempting promises to the voters but also tried their best to woo them. Let us tell you that the main contest in Delhi is between BJP and AAP. But Congress has made this contest triangular. The Delhi election is so important that in the last week of January, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself not only held several rallies but also appealed to the people to give him a chance to serve Delhi.

3,000 polling stations have been identified as sensitive (Delhi Elections 2025)

Special Police Commissioner Devesh Chandra Srivastava, in-charge of Crime and Election Cell, said that “All the personnel of Delhi Police are committed to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections (Delhi Elections 2025). All pre-election arrangements have already been made.” He further said that “along with regular cash seizures, there has been a record seizure of narcotics and liquor.” Not only this, he also said that “about 3,000 polling stations have been identified as sensitive and drones will be used at some of these places.” The Special Police Commissioner said that “additional police force will be deployed at sensitive booths. Apart from this, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) will also be deployed to maintain peace, law and order.” According to the police, all the district DCPs and senior officers have been informed about the election preparations.

A total of 1,049 cases of violation of the code of conduct have been registered

According to Delhi Police data, more than 1,000 cases of alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct have been registered ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections (Delhi Elections 2025) to be held on February 5. These cases were registered between January 7, when the MCC came into force, and February 2. Not only this, during this period a total of 33,434 people were arrested under various legal provisions including the Excise Act. The big thing is that before the Delhi elections, the police has not only increased vigilance at the border posts but has also cracked down on illegal activities including arms, liquor and drug smuggling. For information, let us tell you that the Delhi Police has registered 1,049 cases of alleged code of conduct violations and seized 462 illegal firearms and 510 cartridges. Apart from this, a total of 482 people have been arrested under the Arms Act. Apart from this, law enforcement agencies have seized 1,08,258 liters of liquor and arrested 1,353 people. Along with this, 196.602 kg of narcotics worth more than Rs 77.9 crore have been seized. Not only this, all police station in-charges and police post in-charges have been instructed to maintain law and order during the elections.
