This is the reason that to increase the importance of Hindi all over the world, every year 10 January is celebrated as World Hindi Day and every year 14 September is celebrated as National Hindi Day. It started in the year 1953. The reason for celebrating it is that on 14 September 1949, Hindi got the status of the official language of India. The main objective behind celebrating World Hindi Day is to recognize Hindi as a universal language.

Indira Gandhi organized the first World Hindi Day Conference

Let us tell you that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi organized the first World Hindi Day Conference in Nagpur, Maharashtra in the year 1975. 122 representatives from 30 countries participated in that event. In this conference, there was a discussion about recognizing Hindi as one of the most spoken languages ​​​​globally and promoting its use in international discussions.

World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10 January

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh celebrated World Hindi Day for the first time on 10 January 2006. Since then, World Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 10 January. This time the theme of World Hindi Day has been kept as Global Voice of Unity and Cultural Pride. Its purpose is to promote the use of Hindi language for linguistic and international exchange.
