ISRO scientist V Narayanan will be the new chief of ISRO. The central government said that V Narayanan will replace S Somnath as the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). V Narayanan will also take over as the Secretary of the Department of Space. According to the order of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, V Narayanan will take over from the current ISRO chief S Somnath on January 14. ISRO’s current chairman S. Somnath took over as ISRO chairman on 14 January 2022. He is retiring after a tenure of three years. ISRO made history during his tenure. ISRO not only landed Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the Moon but also sent Aditya-L1 to study the Sun at the Lagrange point 15 lakh km above the Earth.

Let us tell you that V Narayanan is a reputed (V Narayanan ISRO Chief) scientist. He has almost four decades of experience in rocket and spacecraft propulsion. Narayan is a rocket and spacecraft propulsion specialist. He joined ISRO in the year 1984. He has held various positions before becoming the Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC). During the initial phase, he worked in the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) in the field of sounding rockets and solid propulsion of Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicle (ASLV) and Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). Not only this, V Narayanan contributed to the process planning, process control and implementation of ablative nozzle system, composite motor case and composite igniter case. Currently Narayanan is the Director of LPSC. Which is one of the major centers of ISRO, headquartered in Valiyamala, Thiruvananthapuram, with a unit in Bengaluru.

After studying in Tamil-medium schools, Narayanan (V Narayanan ISRO Chief) completed MTech in Cryogenic Engineering and PhD in Aerospace Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. He was awarded a silver medal for securing the first rank in the MTech program. The rocket and spacecraft propulsion specialist joined ISRO in 1984 and became the director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Center in 2018.
