US Gets Two New National Monuments: President Biden

President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden has designated two California sites as national monuments. The announcement was supposed to have been made earlier, but was postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Now the President has announced these national monuments five days before the end of his term.

These monuments will be built in honor of Native American tribes and will serve to protect mountain areas and deserts from mining and energy development. President Biden made the announcement at an event at the White House. After arriving in California on January 6, Biden had to make changes to his schedule due to the fires, which had caused a serious situation in the forests of Los Angeles.
