In fact, hundreds of devotees from all over the country have reached Tirupati for the 10-day Vaikuntha Dwar Darshanam starting from January 10. Tokens are taken for the special Vaikuntha Dwar Darshanam of Tirupati temple. Only after taking the token, one can go inside for darshan. According to the information, tokens were being distributed at a total of eight places in the temple premises for Vaikuntha Dwar Darshanam. There was a long queue of devotees for tokens. Devotees were so eager to get tokens that as soon as the gate opened, devotees could not control themselves and in the hurry to get tokens, a stampede (Tirupati stampede) suddenly broke out. The stampede was such that 6 people lost their lives.

Suddenly a stampede broke out due to the people moving forward. It is being said that there were more than 4 thousand people for the token.
