After the Maharashtra assembly elections, everyone has the same question in their mind that “Who will be the new ‘Chief Minister’ of Maharashtra?” A series of meetings is going on from Delhi to Maharashtra regarding the new Chief Minister. Let us tell you that till late Thursday night, all the three big leaders of the Mahayuti have returned to Mumbai after a 2-hour meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda in Delhi. After Delhi, a meeting is to be held in Mumbai, in which the name of the new CM can possibly be finalized. If media reports are to be believed, there is a tangle regarding the division of departments between the three parties of the Mahayuti.
Shinde wants Home Ministry and Urban Development
According to the news, consensus has been reached on the name of CM Devendra Fadnavis. The Home Department can remain with him. At the same time, Ajit Pawar can get the responsibility of the Finance Department along with the post of Deputy CM. Meanwhile, the whole matter is stuck regarding Eknath Shinde. BJP has asked him to give him the Revenue and PWD departments. Shinde is not agreeing to this. He wants to keep the Home Ministry and Urban Development with himself. According to sources close to the party, there has been a discussion on giving Eknath Shinde the Revenue and PWD departments along with the post of Deputy CM. BJP does not want to give Urban Development. However, it is also being said that Shinde will take a decision on this proposal of BJP only after talking to his party’s senior leaders.
The name of the Chief Minister will be decided in the meeting to be held in Mumbai
In the late night meeting held in Delhi, Eknath Shinde has assured Amit Shah that his party will stand firmly with the Mahayuti. Meanwhile, it is being said that a meeting will be held in Mumbai today regarding the new CM of Maharashtra. Eknath Shinde had given indications of this while returning from Delhi. He had said that the name of the new “Chief Minister will be decided in the meeting to be held in Mumbai.” It is reported that the Central Observer will come to Mumbai from Delhi in the next two days, after which the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party will be held. And during this time the name of the CM can also be announced.

Caste equations can also play a big role in the selection of the Chief Minister
The important thing to note is that with Eknath Shinde stepping down from the CM post, the path for Devendra Fadnavis has been cleared. But caste equations can also play a big role in the selection of the Chief Minister. The reason is that most of the 288 MLAs of all parties are from the Maratha community. Fadnavis is from the Brahmin community and became the Chief Minister for the first time in 2014. It is also being said that if the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has no objection, then there is a high possibility of Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister.
