The Mahakumbh has started in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from today. The entire city is filled with a huge crowd of devotees, and lakhs of people have been taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam since morning. It is estimated that more than 40 crore devotees will participate in this Mahakumbh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too paid tributes on the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the launch of the Mahakumbh as an important day for the preservation of Indian values and culture.

In a tweet this morning, the Prime Minister said, “With the holy bath on Paush Purnima, the Mahakumbh begins today at the holy land of Prayagraj. On this divine occasion associated with our faith and culture, I heartily salute and congratulate all the devotees. May this grand celebration of the Indian spiritual tradition infuse new energy and enthusiasm in the lives of all of you.”
