A major road accident took place in Bandipora district of Kashmir today (January 4, 2025). An Army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge, killing two soldiers and injuring three others. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical. Soon after the incident, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
How accident took place?
According to officials, the accident took place near SK Payen area when the Army vehicle suddenly lost control and fell into the gorge. Initial investigation did not indicate any terror activity. Police and fire service personnel are conducting rescue operations to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap.

Accident of 24 December 2024:
Last month on 24 December 2024, an Army vehicle fell into a 300-feet deep gorge in the Balnoi sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place during an operational duty in which five jawans were killed.
Accident of December 31, 2024: On December 31, too, a road accident took place near the LOC in Mendhar area of Poonch district. The Army vehicle fell into a 100-feet-deep gorge in Balnoi area, killing five soldiers and injuring five others.

Such incidents reflect their service and sacrifice. The army and police teams are engaged in finding ways to prevent such incidents.
