The statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah about Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar during the debate on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha has given a big issue to the opposition parties. In fact, assembly elections are to be held in Bihar and Delhi next year. The way the opposition has created a ruckus over Amit Shah’s statement, it has become clear that this will definitely become an issue in the upcoming assembly elections. On this pretext, the opposition will try to establish its narrative that when the BJP hates Ambedkar so much, what will be its attitude towards his Constitution. In fact, during the debate on the Constitution in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while targeting the Congress and the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, had said that “Now it has become a fashion, if you take the name of God by saying Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, then you would get heaven for seven lives.”

The aggression of the opposition on Amit Shah’s statement has increased to such an extent that now even BJP has become serious about it. After the statement in the House, Amit Shah had to give clarification by holding a press conference as to why he said this. Meanwhile, in view of the election buzz, RJD in Bihar has now become more vocal on this issue. Taking a jibe at Amit Shah’s statement, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that “Amit Shah has insulted their God.” Lalu not only condemned Amit Shah’s statement by calling Ambedkar God, but also advised him to retire from politics.

Amit Shah’s statement clearly reflects hatred towards Ambedkar

Let us tell you that the opposition has already been accusing the BJP of trying to change the reservation system made in the Constitution. Lalu Yadav has also said that “Amit Shah’s statement clearly reflects hatred towards Ambedkar.” It is worth mentioning that during the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition had said that “BJP is preparing to change the Constitution and end reservation.” However, to a large extent, the opposition was successful in this. BJP’s seats had come down to 240 as compared to the previous two elections.
