Allahabad High Court’s Decision Disrupts 69,000 Teacher Appointments

Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court has decided to annul the merit list for Uttar Pradesh’s 69,000 teacher recruitment. This ruling has set up a contentious political discussion both inside the state and around the country. Political leaders like Rahul Gandhi have responded strongly to the action.

Rahul Gandhi Challenges the BJP

After the court’s ruling, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has strongly attacked the BJP government. Gandhi called on social media the court’s actions as a significant blow to the BJP’s claimed reservation system manipulation. He praised it as a triumph for the young people, like Amit Maurya, who have been five-year protestors. Gandhi charged the BJP of erasing the reservation system and inciting upheaval for thousands of young people.

The BJP’s Involvement and Charges

Rahul Gandhi’s speech denounced the BJP for subjecting many young people’s futures into uncertainty. He said that during the past five years, the BJP’s activities had caused these people needless suffering. Gandhi argues that the BJP bears whole responsibility for the upheaval whether or not they are put in the new list or taken off from the old one.

Court Decision and Consequences

The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench has revoked the appointments granted following the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination (ATRE) 2020. This cancellation influences the initial June 2020 list as well as the later January 5, 2022 selection list. The court orders the state administration to compile a fresh merit list. In Uttar Pradesh, this decision has generated major political turmoil.
