4th Day of Shardiya Navratri 2024: Know how to worship Maa Kushmanda

Navratri is a Hindu festival that celebrates the nine forms of Goddess Durga. The fourth day of Shardiya Navratri 2024 is dedicated to Maa Kushmanda. Mother Kushmanda’s name is derived from the Sanskrit words’ Kush ‘and’ Andha ‘, which means’ Potter’s aunt ‘. The form of Maa Kushmanda is wonderful and divine, and worshipping her brings happiness, prosperity, and health to the devotees.

Maa Kushmanda is depicted as a goddess with four hands. They have lotus flowers, a bow, an arrow, and Amrit Kalash in their hands. Their body is gold in color, and they are usually in a smiling posture. By worshiping Maa Kushmanda, devotees get mental peace, happiness, and freedom from problems. By worshipping them, child happiness, health, and all kinds of fears are removed. It is believed that Maa Kushmanda was the creator of the universe at the beginning of creation.

The method of worship of Maa Kushmanda is special. Devotees should take a bath on this day. Clean the place of worship and install the idol or picture of Maa Kushmanda. Then offer them red-colored flowers, fruits, sweets, and milk. Especially the hog of the pumpkin is dear to the mother, so it should be included in the puja.

Things that need to be followed while worshipping Maa Kushmanda

On the fourth day of Navratri, devotees wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Resolve to worship Maa Kushmanda. First of all, the place of worship should be cleaned with Ganga water. Then, install a statue of the mother by laying a yellow cloth on a wooden post and remember her. Offer yellow clothes, flowers, fruits, sweets, incense, lamps, naivedya, and akshat in the puja. After offering all the ingredients, perform the aarti of the mother and offer bhog. Finally, seek forgiveness and meditatively recite Durga Saptashati and Durga Chalisa.

Mantra: “Om Namah Shivaya”

Devotees should meditate while chanting this mantra. At the end of the puja, Maa Kushmanda’s Aarti should be performed. Aarti spreads devotion in the atmosphere, and devotees get special blessings.

Food and offerings

Kumhara ki sabzi, kheer, fruits, and sweet dishes should be offered to Maa Kushmanda as bhog. Mother should enjoy Malpua. Devotees should keep in mind that the bhog should always be fresh and pure. The prasad of the offered bhog should be distributed to all the devotees so that the grace of the mother remains on all.
