Balochistan is the largest state of Pakistan in terms of area and it is equal to Germany in terms of size, but in terms of population, this state is desolate. The population here is only 1.5 crore, which is 7 crore less than Germany. But the biggest feature of this state is that this state is full of natural resources. Many things like gold, copper and oil are present in the mines here. Pakistan is fulfilling the needs of the country by using these resources. But despite all this, Balochistan is the most backward state. 70 percent of the people here are forced to live below the poverty line. In matters like health, education and employment, this state is lagging behind not only in Pakistan but in the whole of South Asia. Due to this poverty and backwardness, hatred against Pakistan is increasing in Balochistan. The Baloch people are rebelling demanding their rights and are attacking the Pakistani army every day.
How did the rebellion start in Balochistan?
The history of Balochistan has been full of rebellion since the India-Pakistan partition. At the time of partition, a meeting was held in Delhi on 4 August 1947. British Viceroy Lord Mountbatten also participated in it along with Kalat ruler Mir Ahmed Khan, Jawaharlal Nehru and Jinnah. It was decided in this meeting that Kalat, Las Bela, Kharan and Makran would be combined to form an independent Balochistan and on 11 August Balochistan was declared a separate country. About a month after Balochistan was declared independent, England passed a resolution on 12 September. In which it was said that Balochistan is not in a condition to become a separate country in terms of economic and security.
Pakistan attacked and forcefully occupied Balochistan in 1948
After which Jinnah asked Ahmed Khan to merge Balochistan with Pakistan. But the ruler of Kalat did not agree. After which Pakistan attacked and forcefully occupied Balochistan in 1948. But the Balochs did not accept defeat and started a rebellion against Pakistan. This struggle has been going on since then. The Balochs say that they have a right over the natural resources here, but Pakistan has illegally occupied it in collaboration with China and they are fighting to remove this occupation. Thousands of Baloch have been killed in this battle so far and thousands have disappeared. But even after this, the Balochs are not ready to accept defeat and are continuously retaliating against the Pakistani army.
