Actually, the reason behind these changes is that Islamic fundamentalism has started raising its head here. Let us tell you that after the allegations of involvement of four Tajik citizens in the attack on a concert hall in Moscow last year, the government started strict action against Islamic extremism. Earlier in the year 2015, many Tajik citizens had joined the terrorist organization Islamic State. This is the reason that in view of these incidents, the Tajikistan government has taken this decision. Not only this, President Emamali Rahmon, who has been in power since 1992, had earlier also described the Islamic hijab as a problem for the society and appealed to women to wear clothes in Tajik style. Not only this, in order to curb religious fanaticism, the government has also informally banned keeping long beard in the country (Burqa & Beard Ban).
