Mumbai, October 23, 2026: Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213-crore initial public offering (IPO) enters its final day of public bidding today after drawing exceptionally strong investor demand during the first two days. The issue, which opened on October 21, is India’s largest IPO to date and is scheduled to close on October 23.
By the end of Day 2, the IPO had been subscribed about 5.57 times, led by heavy demand from qualified institutional buyers, while the retail portion was also fully subscribed.
₹30,213-Crore IPO Closes Today
Jio Platforms is offering up to 27 crore fresh equity shares through the IPO.
The public subscription window runs from October 21 to October 23, making Friday the final opportunity for investors to submit bids.
Strong Demand Ahead of Final Day
Investor interest has remained strong since the issue opened.
The IPO was fully subscribed within roughly two hours on the first day and finished Day 1 at 3.16 times subscription. By the close of the second day, overall demand had risen to 5.57 times the shares available.
Institutional Investors Lead Bidding
Qualified institutional buyers have emerged as the strongest category.
Their reserved portion was subscribed 13.29 times by the end of October 22, reflecting significant interest from large domestic and foreign financial institutions.
Retail Portion Fully Subscribed
Retail investors also increased participation significantly on the second day.
The retail category ended Day 2 at around 1.54 times subscription, compared with 0.73 times on the opening day.
Non-Institutional Investors Show Strong Interest
Demand from non-institutional investors has also accelerated.
The NII category was subscribed approximately 5.97 times by the end of Thursday, suggesting strong interest from high-net-worth and other large individual investors.
Jio IPO Is India’s Largest Public Offering
At approximately $3.2 billion, the Jio Platforms offering has become the largest IPO in Indian market history.
It is also the first major public offering from Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance in roughly two decades.
Akash Ambani Takes Centre Stage
The IPO has also put Jio chairman Akash Ambani in the spotlight as the company moves toward becoming a publicly listed entity.
Reuters reported that the 35-year-old executive has increasingly become the key face of Jio’s strategy and investor engagement as the business expands beyond telecom into digital services and technology.
Jio Goes Beyond Telecom
Jio Platforms has grown from a telecom operator into a broader digital ecosystem spanning mobile connectivity, broadband, cloud services, digital platforms and technology partnerships.
Its scale and position in India’s rapidly expanding digital economy are among the major factors attracting institutional investors to the IPO.
Listing Scheduled for October 28
Following the close of bidding, the basis of allotment is expected to be finalised on October 26.
Refunds and credit of shares are scheduled for October 27, while Jio Platforms is expected to list on the BSE and NSE on October 28, 2026.
Final-Day Subscription in Focus
The final hours of bidding are likely to be closely watched because large institutional and non-institutional investors often place substantial orders on the last day of an IPO.
Analysts expect final subscription levels to rise further before the issue closes.
Market Attention Turns to Listing
With the IPO already heavily oversubscribed, investor attention will increasingly shift toward allotment and the October 28 market debut.
The listing will be closely watched as an important test of investor appetite for one of India’s largest technology and telecom businesses.
