Fast Bowler Varun Aaron Announced His Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket

Another Indian cricketer has announced his retirement from international cricket. And the name of fast bowler Varun Aaron has been included in this list. Varun, who terrorized batsmen with his fast bowling, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in a post on social media on January 10. Varun Dhawan played 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for India. His last international appearance was in 2015. 

A career marred by injuries 

Varun Aaron got recognition due to his fast bowling in the 2010-11 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he bowled at a speed of more than 150 kilometers per hour. In 2011, he got a chance to debut in international cricket, but due to continuous injuries, he could not cement his place in the team. In his 9 Test matches, Varun took 18 wickets at an average of 52.61, while in 9 ODIs, he took 11 wickets at an average of 38.09. Varun’s performance in the IPL was also commendable, where he took 44 wickets in 52 matches at an average of 33.66.

Struggle to recover from injury 

Announcing his retirement, Varun Aaron wrote on social media that he has lived the thrill of fast bowling for 20 years with full devotion. He thanked his fans and formally announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Varun said his journey would have been incomplete without the support of his family, friends, support staff and fans. He returned from several serious injuries during his career, for which he expressed gratitude to the physios, trainers and coaches of the National Cricket Academy.
