The Paush Purnima will begin at 5: 02 AM on 13th January and will conclude at 3: 56 AM on 14th January, the next full moon day. The Purnima Vrat and religious rituals will be performed mainly on January 13. Also, the time of moonrise will be 5 pm and 4 minutes. The time of bathing and donation is considered to be the best in the morning Brahmamuhurta.
The Significance of Paush Purnima
Paush Purnima is mainly associated with religious rituals and spirituality. It is believed that by bathing in the Ganges or any holy river on this day, one gets rid of the sins of life and attains salvation and peace. Apart from this, the worship of Lord Satyanarayan is also of special importance on this day. On Paush Purnima, the moon is in its full form and its cool moonlight radiates positive energy.
Worship method
Bathing and cleansing: On the day of Paush Purnima, wake up early and take a bath. If possible, take a dip in the river Ganga or any other holy river. If it is not possible to go to the river, then take a bath at home by mixing Gangajal in the bathing water.
Worship Lord Satyanarayan: After taking a bath, observe a vrat and katha of Lord Satyanarayan. Offer bananas, jaggery, rice and panchamrit to the Lord. Recite the Satyanarayan Katha during the puja.
Charity and service: Donate food, clothes, money and other essentials to the needy on this day. On this day, cows and calves are given special attention. Moon sighting: On the night of Purnima, the moon is sighted. For this, mix milk and water and offer it to the moon and wish for happiness and prosperity.

Special rituals on Paush Purnima
On the day of Paush Purnima, the Magh Mela begins in Prayagraj. The fair lasts for a month and sees lakhs of devotees take a dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. On this day, special pujas dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are performed.
