A heart-wrenching incident has happened in Almora district of Uttarakhand. According to the news, on Monday morning, a bus going from Pauri to Ramnagar fell into a 200 metre deep gorge near Marchula. Due to falling into the deep gorge, about 20 people have died and others are said to be injured. There were a total of 40 people in the bus. As soon as the information about the accident was received, without any delay, the police and the personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the spot to start the search and rescue operation. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospitals for treatment. According to District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey, “So far 20 people have been reported dead. However, the number of casualties may increase.”

Relief teams reached the spot and helped the passengers.

According to the information, the accident was so terrible that some people were scattered here and there while falling. People got so scared in this sudden accident. they started trying to get themselves out of the bus in a hurry. The good thing is that the relief teams that reached the spot. not only they helped the passengers but also took the injured to the hospital. The administration is trying to help in every possible way by reaching the spot. Along with this, the causes of the accident are also being investigated.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over this tragic accident. He posted on the social media platform X and wrote that “Very sad news has been received about the casualties of passengers in the unfortunate bus accident in Marchula of Almora district. Immediate instructions have been given to the district administration to conduct relief and rescue operations expeditiously.” The Chief Minister also said that “Instructions have also been given to transport seriously injured passengers by plane if needed. The local administration and the SDRF team are working fast to evacuate the injured and take them to the nearest health centre.”
