Sameer Wankhede, a 2008-batch IRS officer who came into the limelight in the case of Rhea Chakraborty and Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, is going to try his luck in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. Sameer is likely to join the Shiv Sena (Shinde group) and contest from the Dharavi assembly seat in Mumbai. Dharavi is not only considered a stronghold of the Congress but has also been the traditional seat of Varsha Gaikwad. She was the first MLA from this seat and then won the year 2024 and became the parliament. In the 2019 assembly elections, Shiv Sena’s Ashish Vasant More had contested from this seat, but Ashish was defeated by Varsha. However, now the Mahayuti is trying to spread saffron in this seat.
