Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility for Baba Siddique Murder

Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead outside his office. Miscreants fired several rounds at him in Mumbai’s Bandra East late last night. After the incident, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in critical condition, where Baba Siddiqui died during treatment. Confirming the death of Baba Siddique, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said two accused in the case have been arrested and one is still absconding. The accused hail from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder. 

Baba Siddique was in the Congress for about 48 years and became an MLA and minister several times. In February this year, he left the Congress and joined the NCP of Ajit Pawar’s faction. Baba Siddique had received a threat a few days ago, after which he was given Y category security by the Maharashtra government. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has started investigating the case. It is being said that before the firing on Baba Siddique, firecrackers were burst at the incident site. Amid the sound of firecrackers, five bullets were fired at Siddiqui, three of which hit him. 

Baba Siddique had a strong hold on politics as well as Bollywood

Baba Siddique was active in Maharashtra politics for the last four decades. Baba Siddique was associated with the Congress for 48 years before joining the NCP. Baba Siddique first won the assembly election from Bandra West in 1999 and was continuously elected from here till 2014. He was also the Food and Civil Supplies Minister in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government. Baba Siddique had a good hold in Bollywood. Bollywood celebrities attended the Iftar party. He had family relations with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have become friends again. 

Opposition demands Home Minister’s resignation

Opposition parties have demanded the resignation of the Home Minister over the incident. Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, “This horrific incident exposes the failure of Maharashtra’s law and order. The government should take responsibility for this.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar demanded the resignation of the Home Minister. Vijay Wadettiwar said that the way criminals are killing people in public places in the state today, it shows that the cycle of crime is coming back in Mumbai.
