Sanatan Dharma calculates the date from the sun’s rise, so August 19th will be observed as Sawan Purnima. On this day we also observed Rakshabandhan, the emblem of brother-sister love.
Sawan Purnima’s religious relevance
In Hinduism, Purnima day is regarded as exceptionally lucky. Lord Shiva corresponds with Sawan Purnima. Sisters tie rakhi on the wrists of their brothers today and wish them long life and happiness. भाय बाई में अपनी शेशन का वाचन हैन अव्य है। This celebration encourages among family members mutual love, devotion, and trust. A myth holds that on this day Goddess Lakshmi made King Bali her brother by tying a rakhi to him. Therefore, the celebration of Raksha Bandhan enhances the link of love, friendship, and humanity in addition to brother-sister relationships.
Savan Purnima fast is especially meant for Chandra Dev and is regarded complete only after argya to the moon. On Sawan Purnima this year the moon rises at 06:56 PM.
Method of worship
Specifically important on the day of Savan Purnima is the worship of Lord Shiva, Chandra Dev, Srihari Vishnu, and Maa Lakshmi. On this day others also recount Satyanarayan’s life. Prepare the required puja items—belpatra, incense, lamp, purified water, flowers, sweets, and fruits—after rising early in the morning and bathing.
Offer bell leaves, flowers, fruit and light incense-lamps to honor Lord Shiva following this. Then worship Maa Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu jointly in which you provide yellow fruits, cowries, and flowers. Offer Chandra Dev arghya once the moon rises on Savan Purnima.
