Maharashtra will hold its upcoming assembly elections in October. About two months remain before the elections, yet the chief ministerial candidate remains a contentious issue for both the ruling party and the opposition. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance also includes Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. While claiming to win and retake power, this alliance is silent on the Chief Minister election candidate.
On the Chief Minister face, there is silence.
The same is the case with the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, and Sharad Pawar’s Mahavikas Aghadi alliance. The alliance plans to launch joint election rallies across the state on August 20, but the Chief Minister remains silent. Earlier, reports suggested that Uddhav Thackeray would lead this alliance as the Chief Minister, but Congress and Sharad Pawar did not agree. After winning the elections, the Mahayuti alliance leaders assert that they will choose the Chief Minister based on seats.
The Mahayuti Alliance does not want to reveal the CM’s face.
There are frequent reports of rifts between the constituent parties of the Mahayuti alliance. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Chief Minister Shinde want to be Chief Minister again, according to media sources. The BJP believes that Devendra Fadnavis is more prominent than Shinde, even though he is the state’s Chief Minister. In such a situation, the question arises: whom will the Mahayuti alliance choose as its next Chief Minister? However, even after this, the alliance is going to organize joint election rallies across Maharashtra from August 20. The alliance leaders assert that these joint rallies will convey a message to the public, demonstrating our unity and potential benefits.
Many faces claimed the post of CM.
The issue is also one that the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is dealing with. Here, there are several contenders for the role of Chief Minister. Congress and the Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Thackeray, are allegedly at war over seat distribution and the chief minister post. Consequently, the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is unable to come to a decision. The partnership believes that choosing the Chief Minister based on the number of seats won in the election would be preferable for everyone.
