NEW DELHI, September 15: The registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 will close today at 5 PM, with IIM Indore urging eligible candidates to complete their applications and fee payment before the deadline. CAT 2026 will be conducted on November 29, 2026, in three sessions across approximately 170 test cities.
Registration Deadline Ends at 5 PM Today
The CAT 2026 application process began on August 3 at 10 AM and will close on September 15 at 5 PM.
Candidates who have created a login but have not yet completed the application must still fill in all required details, upload documents, pay the application fee and finally submit the form before the deadline.
IIM Indore has advised applicants not to wait until the final minutes because payment failures, document-upload issues or heavy website traffic could affect successful submission.

The CAT 2026 application fee is:
- ₹2,700 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates
- ₹1,350 for SC, ST and PwBD candidates
The fee needs to be paid only once, irrespective of the number of IIM programmes selected, and is non-refundable.
Who Can Apply for CAT 2026?
Candidates must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum requirement is 45%. Final-year undergraduate students and candidates awaiting their degree results are also eligible to apply, subject to meeting the prescribed conditions later in the admission process.

- Quantitative Ability (QA)
The total test duration will be 120 minutes.
Admit Cards From November 4
CAT 2026 admit cards are scheduled to become available from November 4.
Candidates will be allotted test centres based on preferences and availability. Applicants can select up to five preferred test cities while filling out the form.
The CAT result is expected in the first week of January 2027.
Candidates Warned Against Fake Websites
IIM Indore has also cautioned applicants against fraudulent websites and unofficial payment links.
Candidates should use only the official CAT portal for registration, personal details and fee payment. They have also been advised to maintain an active email ID and mobile number throughout the selection process.
CAT is one of India’s most important management entrance examinations and is used for admission to the Indian Institutes of Management as well as several other leading business schools.
