Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the game. He is the highest run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket and the only batsman to score 100 centuries. Sachin Tendulkar has accepted an invitation to become an honorary member of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC). This was confirmed by the MCC via their official Twitter handle.
One of Australia’s oldest sporting clubs, the Melbourne Cricket Club was founded in 1838. The club manages and develops the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of the premier venues in the sporting world. The MCC posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote that an ‘icon’ has been honoured. He announced that Sachin Tendulkar has accepted the honorary membership of MCC in recognition of his outstanding contribution to cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer for India in Test cricket. He has scored a total of 449 runs in the 5 Test matches played at this ground at an average of 44.90 and a strike rate of 58.69. This includes two centuries and three half-centuries. In the year 2012, Sachin was also awarded Australia’s prestigious honor ‘Order of Australia’. The MCG is currently hosting the fourth match of the five-match Test series between India and Australia.
Sachin Tendulkar has scored a total of 15,921 runs in 200 Test matches for the Indian team, with 51 centuries from his bat. In 463 ODIs, he has scored 18,426 runs with 49 centuries.
