Actually, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wanted to tour the Champions Trophy in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pak announced the names of many venues, which also included PoK. Regarding this, PCB had tweeted that be ready, Pakistan, ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour will start on November 16 in Islamabad, in which scenic tourist places like Skardu, Murree, Hunza and Muzaffarabad will also be visited. According to the news, after Jai Shah’s objection, the BCCI lodged a strong objection to it. Then what, after Jai Shah’s complaint, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned it.

Jay Shah spoke to top ICC officials

According to media reports, on Friday, BCCI Secretary Jay Amit Shah apprised ICC officials of the matter. It is also being said that Jay Shah called ICC officials and strongly criticised the PCB’s move to tour the trophy to several cities under Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Not only this, he also urged the ICC to take strict action.

The trophy tour was planned in consultation and approval with the ICC

However, in this matter, PCB sources say that “the trophy tour was planned in consultation and approval with the ICC and it was not a unilateral decision of the Pakistan Board.” Not only this, the PCB official said that “If the BCCI had any problem, they should have informed the PCB immediately before announcing the trophy tour.” For information, let us tell you that this trophy tour is part of the ICC’s promotional campaign, which includes a tour of many cities as per the discussion between the international body and the host country. When the 2023 ODI World Cup was played in India last year, before that the World Cup trophy was toured to many cities of India.
