The preparations for the next year’s assembly elections in Haryana have begun, as the BJP is now getting geared up. The party has constituted a special committee, which will chalk out the party’s promises for the coming election.
What is this committee, and what are other details in this regard?
The Manifesto Committee is a team designated to prepare the list of promises before the election. The BJP has appointed senior leader O.P. Dhankhar as the head of this committee. It consists of 15 members who will assess the situation—what the people of Haryana need, what they expect, and what is possible to do. A committee has been formed to enable the party to make some attractive promises to the electorate. They will look at the issues of both rural and urban areas, like repairing roads, opening new schools, or helping farmers, and make a promise in their election manifesto.
What was the position in the last assembly election?
In the polls held in 2019, out of a total of 90, the BJP won 40 but had to take the support of other parties to form the government. They had allied with the Jannayak Janta Party for the same. Whereas in the previous election in 2014, the BJP formed the government independently with 47 seats. This time, too, the BJP is looking to form a government on its own and is making all efforts to woo as many voters as it can.
How are preparations for the coming election?
The date of the next election is October 1, 2024, and the results are on October 4. This time, the BJP is getting differently prepared, meaning activities with people to understand their needs and assimilate those in their manifesto. The building of a manifesto committee itself shows how earnest the party is vis-à-vis winning the confidence of the people. The BJP is going to make realistic and populist commitments to attract votes. This time, it will be obligatory for the people of Haryana to take the responsibility of electing good leaders and an able government upon their shoulders. All parties will give their best performance, and now it shall be seen who gets the maximum share to form the next government in Haryana.
