Headache…because of Vitamin D Deficiency?

Vitamin D Deficiency

Deficiency of Vitamin D in the body is known as Vitamin D insufficiency or Vitamin D Deficiency. It is a typical inadequacy that leads to issues with the muscles and bones. People over 65 are typically affected by this illness. One of the most crucial elements that the body needs to keep healthy is Vitamin D. It is crucial to the development and upkeep of bones as well as the balance of calcium in the blood and bones. It’s thought that chronic headaches may be brought on by a Vitamin D insufficiency.

Vitamin D Deficiency and Constant Headaches

According to the National Library of Medicine, if one of the migraine or headache patients has a headache very often in a month, it is linked to vitamin D deficiency. However, more studies are needed to confirm the link between the two.

The Relationship Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Constant Headaches

This study found that when comparing the lowest and highest levels of Vitamin D, low Vitamin D was associated with frequent headaches. It was also found that people with low Vitamin D were more than twice as likely to have a headache at least once a week. The study also found that many participants with Vitamin D deficiency did not have chronic headaches. 68% of participants were vitamin D deficient, but only 9.6% of participants reported having chronic headaches. Nevertheless, participants with persistent headaches had lower average levels of Vitamin D than participants without headaches.

Source for Vitamin D

Some of the ways to overcome such a deficiency are as follows:

  • Sub Light: Sometimes exposure to sunlight does not cause a lack of vitamin D in the body. But don’t stay in direct sunlight for too long.
  • Diet: Fatty fish, orange juice, egg yolk, etc. can be helpful in increasing the level of vitamin D.
  • Supplements: Supplements can be a safe and effective way to increase Vitamin D levels. However, before taking it, you should consult a doctor.

This information is based on research. But if you are suffering from any physical problem, then definitely consult your health expert
